Ok, lol really not Las Vegas even though thats where we were staying but I drug my poor husband out of bed at 4am to get up and drive me out to the Valley of Fire. I have to say I was blown away by Nevada’s oldest state park and these are just a few I wanted to share. As always share the love, and like it on Facebook if you want. So last night was the first lunar eclipse in a very long time. And the fact that it happened on the winter solstice was another bonus. Tonight is a full moon but last nights was super close to full. Went outside in minus 25 weather trying to get a decent shot. I’m limited with the range of my current lens line up but hopefully this will be rectified soon. Anyhow just a couple shots, with extreme crops. Enjoy.

I have that song in my head, you know the one Baby its Cold outside. Christmas music is on the radio, snow is on the ground and the last couple of days the hoarfrost has been amazing. Today it was a bit too heavy for macro shots but in the last couple days I have gotten a couple beautiful landscapes. Here are my favorites. Hope you enjoy. Please feel free to comment if you like. So someone I know from a photography forum inspired me this week to take my macro lens out and take some pictures of flowers. Just thought I would share a few of my favorites. I can see how this might become addicting. Different views of angles of stems, petals and stamens. Colors, texture and curves. Something very satisfying about shooting flowers. Feel free to comment and leave your thoughts. They are always welcome.

Now what would a farmer do without harvest pictures. As most of you know, my husband is a full time farmer. He graciously supports me with my passion for photography as long as I record our yearly harvest and seeding. Those of you with farming husbands are nodding your heads because you know exactly what I mean. As always comments are always welcomed.

A theme for this week is color. Anything in eye catching color. Wanted to share a couple of shots I took while in Red Deer. I was really interested in how the color in the boats matched the colors of the surroundings at the time. Enjoy and feel free to comment if you like.

I was out and about this week, a family shoot in Three Hills, Alberta and I took some time for myself to just shoot for fun. I noticed some lines in the landscapes and subjects that I thought were neat and would share. Of course during these outings you can also expect me to stop and take pictures of any old broken barns and farmhouses I see. Actually if I did this every day I would never make it home. Enjoy. Just a couple of lucky lightning shots I got this summer. We live about 15 minutes north of Drumheller but get great views of the storms. I’m sad that the storm season is over. Well there is always next summer. Providing we get more then the 7 days of heat we did this year.

So this morning my wonderful roommate and I got up at 5:00 am to go out to Cambria and try and capture a sunrise there. I had been driving past earlier this week and saw a couple of spots I made mental note to return too. This old barn is just north of Drumheller.  Now after looking at the pictures I think I might try a sunset view of the river and old bridge pillars. Any comments, critiques are always appreciated. I really love to take pictures of old cars. Something about them just begs to be photographed. These are a couple taken this morning when it was super foggy, and an Old GMC truck that sits in our bin yard. The thrasher and car just sit alongside the road I travel almost every day and I thought a foggy morning would really add that lonely feeling I get when I see them.
